Role Overview

As a Workshop Instructor, I facilitate interactive problem-solving sessions designed to help students deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts through active engagement, peer collaboration, and guided exploration.

Workshop Focus

  • Active Learning: Interactive problem sets that encourage students to discover concepts through exploration
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Working in groups to tackle challenging problems and discuss multiple solution approaches
  • Building Intuition: Developing conceptual understanding alongside procedural skills
  • Supporting Diverse Learners: Creating an inclusive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking intellectual risks

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and facilitate workshop activities aligned with course learning objectives
  • Guide students through problem-solving processes using questioning and scaffolding techniques
  • Foster peer collaboration and knowledge-sharing among students
  • Provide constructive feedback on student work and reasoning
  • Monitor student progress and identify areas where additional support is needed

Teaching Philosophy

Workshops are spaces where students learn by doing. The instructor acts as a facilitator who helps students develop mathematical thinking skills, confidence, and resilience in problem-solving, rather than simply transmitting information.
